Today, I went to Tivoli with Hanna that works in the Temple.  We went to enjoy the sights and the rides.  :)
Tivoli Gardens is literally right in the middle of the city.  The building on the right is the Radhus and the beginning of the Strøget.
Welcome to Tivoli!  As the gentleman who came up with it, Georg Carstensen, said to King Christian VIII, "When the people are amusing themselves, they do not think about politics."  He also said that it "will never, so to speak, be finished."
This the 100-year-old roller coaster - the Rutschebanen.  The brake is controlled by a ride operator in the middle of the car.

Why, yes, this ride does say that you have to have "3 agile limbs" to be able to hold on.  This ride went in one circle, while the cars themselves also went in upside down circles.
I loved this one!  Think the swings and the rocket kind of put together.  When we were getting on this ride, they made sure that absolutely everything was out of your pockets - especially the coins.  Unless you took every single item out, you were not allowed to ride.

The Pantomime Theater.  There is a ballet put on every day.

The curtain was a giant peacock and his tails made up the curtain.

 The gardens of the Tivoli.

I loved this ride - "The Mine".  Think Buzz Lightyear ride from Disneyland on water.  The best part was that each person was their own color, so you knew if you hit the target.  :)

This is "The Flying Trunk".  It told the stories of Hans Christian Andersen.  There were a lot of stories, and quite a few that I didn't know.

  The Little Mermaid
  The Steadfast Tin Solider
 The Emperor's New Clothes
 The Ugly Duckling
 The Snow Queen

 The Flying Trunk
 The Princess and the Pea
"Life is the most wonderful fairy tale." - HC Andersen

The Demon - a giant feet hanging roller coaster.
The view of the Radhus from inside Tivoli.
Vertigo - this ride was insane.  I was a single rider by this time as Hanna needed to get home.  I got in the end of the line and they asked for a single rider.  This ride started out twisting you upside down and then the giant arms started going around in circles.  You could choose whether you went forward or backwards.  We went forwards.  The force was so strong that it pushed you back again the seat.  I want to say the fastest was 60 m.p.h. and is 30 meters high.

The view from the Gardens at night.
