August 3, 2014

My view on the beach today while I enjoyed the beach.  I figured I should touch the water at least once, since I did come up to Bear Lake.

This was after I went to a sacrament meeting in Garden City.  The chapel and overflow were full, they had people on the stage and then others meeting in the Relief Society room and Primary Room.  Before we started, they asked for 15 young men, in white shirt and ties, to come up and help with the sacrament.  They had three tiers of stacked water trays, to make sure that they had enough for the congregation.  What I also thought was interesting is that the stake spread over two states, since the Idaho border was so near.

On the way home, we got caught in some awesome rainstorms going through the canyons.

Look at the beautiful view this morning!

After going to Raspberry Days today, we headed to Bloomington, Idaho for a hike.  After going up the wrong canyon on a nice smooth road, we went about 20 miles up a bumpy road to Bloomington Lake.

Indian Paintbrush

The first lake - about 0.6 miles in

The second lake - about 0.8 miles in.

The main lake - about a mile in.
Here people were doing a rope swing, jumping off cliffs, swimming, kayaking.

We found a rock to enjoy the fun and the view.
(Kaylene, myself, Taylor, Katrina, and Jay)

On the way back to the cabin, we got caught in rain, and saw a beautiful rainbow over the lake.
We stayed up this night and there were fireworks going off because of Raspberry Days. We couldn't see a lot of stars tonight.  We did, however, catch falling stars on both nights.

Today, after work, I headed up to Bear Lake for the weekend, to spend the time with my friends.  It
was beautiful up there!

Beautiful sunset!

The view from the cabin

We had some visitors tonight.  These two moose's came through the yard, eating the trees as they walk through.

We stayed up late this night looking at the beautiful stars and Milky Way and talking. We saw a lot of shooting stars, as well as a lot of people getting pulled over on the main road.

Bunnies, anyone? Seriously, though. My sister and brother-in-law have 16 and trying to give some away. They are all lion head bunnies and adorable.

Tonight, I went up to Park City/ Deer Valley to deliver lunch and other items to our executives who were up at a retreat/ meeting.
I ran to Starbucks for them. Apparently people still spell my name with a "Y". :)

The beautiful mountains covered in fog/rain. It was so beautiful up there!

On the way back down, I got stuck in traffic for a good hour and a half. Like my car was stopped in the middle of the freeway for at least 25 minutes.
It looked like a semi truck was hit and it contents - potato chip boxes - had spilled all over the freeway.

I tried an at-home remedy for my clogged sink. Baking soda and vinegar and then boiling water...it didn't work so well unfortunately.

Tonight, I watched Janey while her parents went to see "Wicked".
The path of the night:

We walked up to the Kobe's.

By the end of the night, she snuggled right on in and fell asleep. :)  We had been playing and I put my head down on the couch.  She tried to get comfortable around my feet and then crawled up and fell asleep next to me.

Tonight, Julie and I went to see "Wicked"! It was absolutely amazing!! I love that show and it is so clever. The music is amazing! Thank you Chris and Angela for my Christmas gift!

There were interpreters there that night doing the entire show. One person took Elphaba, and one had Glinda and then they took the other characters as needed.

Happy Pioneer Day!

I am thankful for the ancestors that I come from and this day to celebrate them.

Today, my friends and I headed down to Liberty Park.  We went to Tracy Aviary for $1, which was just a conservation fee.
The condor, Ande, is so cool.  He is 69 years old and one of the oldest in the world.

I love these little orange birds!

The peacock(s) were just roaming the park.

After the Aviary, we set up a spot in Liberty Park for a BBQ and to watch the fireworks.  Not a bad set up, huh?

The fireworks over the trees of Liberty Park.
