September 29, 2014

I came home, showered, and headed straight to work. I got there in time for our weekly conference call,  which I was hoping for.  They were excited to have me back.  :)  It is nice to be missed.

Hello Boise, ID...

September 28, 2014

Well, I left Denmark today.  I will be back, don't you worry.  :)

Beautiful Iceland

The one good part about flying on Iceland Air is the movies they show.

Singin' in the Rain
The Sound of Music

Orange juice in Icelandic... :)
I arrived in Seattle and had a layover before flying to Boise, ID.  I landed in Boise at midnight and was sent out to in front of security before my flight to Salt Lake.  My flight was at 8:00 a.m.  Yep, I slept at the airport.  99.9% sure I was the only one in the airport.  I tried to sleep...  I got to my gate and I had a gentleman ask how long I had been traveling.

September 27, 2014

I spent the morning in the temple, which was great!  I have loved being able to come to the temple so often while I have been here.  It has been amazing.  I went to the two sessions they had that day.  It was great.

The Paulsen's invited us over for dinner tonight, before I head back tomorrow (:( )  On the way, we stopped by The Little Mermaid in the daylight.

It has been amazing trip!!  So sad to see it end.

September 26, 2014

I started today off at Vor Frelsers Kirke.  I went one to many bus stops past it, but I did make it.
This is the chapel.

 The beautiful organ.
It stood on back of elephants.

To get up to top of the spiral, there were small stairway up.
A view of Copenhagen from the first tier.

The stairs up - notice that they are counter-clockwise

Top of the stairs.
Copenhagen is absolutely beautiful!

As I walking out of the church, they were moving big parts into an apartment.  This is one way to do it.

Afterwards, I went to the Danish Jewish Museum.  It didn't open until 1, so I sat in the gardens.
There were a lot of ducks just sitting there, enjoying the water.

This is the building that the Museum was in. However, I waited until 1:30 and it never opened.  Oh, well.  There is always next time I come and visit.  :)
There is small door in the greenery.

A look toward the Stock Exchange.
Christianborg Palace

I, then, headed over to Amalienborg Palace, the current home of Danish royalty.

The Marble Church stands at one end.

The Amalienborg Palaces.  There are four in this square, with guards always around the Queen's, and other, unless all four are being used, then there is a guard outside all.

Next, I went down to Nyhavn.

I found an awesome ice cream show - and yes, that is strawberry jam on the top

I made my way back to the apartment. My parent's live in Fredericksberg.

The beautiful Danish temple.

September 25, 2014

Today, I went off and explored more of Copenhagen.  I started at the Tycho Brahe Planetarium.  It was interesting.  It was sort of hard since everything was in Danish, with few things translated into English.
The ceiling had the 8 (or 9) planets.

Cool ceiling to look at the stars.

After exploring, they should an IMAX film of space and just how small we are, and then went onto a video regarding polar bears.  I was able to plug in earphones to hear it in English.

The Tycho Brahe Planetarium building.
 The view from the Planetarium

The entrance to Tivoli - Happy Halloween!

The middle of Copenhagen.

This is the chapel of the Trinity Church in the middle of the Strøget.  It is connected to the Roundtower.
 Beautiful organ.
The view of the Stock Exchange.  It is three Dragon tails entwined.
The view from the Tower of Christianborg Castle.
 Tivoli from Christiansborg.
 The Church of Our Lady
The bottom of the Christiansborg Castle - it shows the beginning of the first castle in Copenhagen.

I, then, went on to the Stables.  They had saddles dating back to the early kings.
 And carriages...

Yes, those are real horses. They are the Queen's horses that are used still today.  These were beautiful white horses.
Christianborg Castle coming from the stables
I went into Christianborg Castle to tour it.  This is the seat of the Danish parliament, the office of the Prime Minister, and the Supreme Court.  You had to wear blue booties as you walked through.

The beautiful library.  There were over 90,000 books that go through this library.

The Grand Hall.  The works of art that now hangs in Rosenberg Castle used to hang her. Now, there is modern art all around the walls.
It is very interesting.  In the middle of the room, there are books that explain each of the pieces.

 The Crown Room

Isn't Copenhagen beautiful?

Once again, the middle of the city - with a temperature gauge.
