July 6, 2013

Today, we went to the museum and the Cyclorama.  The museum you could stay in for days and not get through it all.  It was about how we came into the Civil War, the beginning of the War, focus on the Battle of Gettysburg and then the aftermath of the war.  The movie was about the Civil War and Lincoln.  The Cyclorama was a 360 degree painting showing part of the Battle of Gettysburg.

Mom, Elizabeth, Molly and I stayed back while Dad and Brian went to a re-enactment at 1:00 p.m.  We walked down Baltimore Street to see more of Gettysburg.  We found an awesome old candy store that reminded me a lot of the candy store that used to be in Ephraim, Mr. Lee's.

When we got to the re-enactment site, Brian, Mom and I went and looked at the Living History portion.  Some of these people have been doing re-enactments for more than 20 years.  Some had cots, others had beds.  It was interesting to see.

The re-enactment: "Thundering Hell" Defending Cemetery Hill

On the way out to the Auto Tour, Nana told Molly the story of The Three Bears and she was laughing and so excited to hear the story. It helps that Nana is an amazing storyteller.  Brian and Dad couldn't see Molly's facial expressions, but they could definitely hear Molly.  She is adorable and a great little traveler.

Tonight, we continued the Auto Car Tour.
We went through the Valley of Death, Bloody Run (bridge over the river), Devil's Run (the rocks), and Slaughter Pen (the trees).
